About this privacy policy

This policy explains how the Zeekey web app handles information when you try keyboard sounds, personalize your playground, save a sound library, join the waitlist, or activate Pro. It describes the current web experience; browser extensions may have additional permission disclosures when released.
Your typing and audio
The playground processes keystrokes in your browser to play sounds and calculate session statistics. Its typing flow does not send the text you type to Zeekey. This is separate from text you intentionally submit, such as a waitlist email or a support message. Session counts, timing, speed, and accuracy are calculated for your session.
Selecting a WAV or MP3 file reads and decodes it in your browser. Trimming, preview playback, edge fades, and automatic volume balancing happen locally. The sound editor does not upload the selected audio file to a Zeekey server. Saved clips are up to 300 milliseconds long; your saved library contains these clips, not a server copy of the original music file.
What stays in this browser
Browser storage holds your selected pack, favorites, mixer settings, theme, keycap style, and sidebar visibility. Pro storage also holds saved sound clips and names, regular-key and Space/Enter/Backspace assignments, custom typing prompts, keycap colors, gradients, icons, images, and presets. Image selection is processed locally for the keycap face.
The Send sounds to extension button explicitly transfers saved clips, key assignments, and supported mixer/theme settings to the paired Chrome extension in this browser. It replaces the previously transferred sound set and settings. This is a local, one-way transfer that you repeat after changes; prompts and images are not transferred. These settings belong to this site in this browser profile. They do not automatically follow you to another device, browser, preview address, or extension. Anyone with access to your browser profile may be able to access this local content. Avoid saving sensitive information in prompts, images, or clip names.
Delete, export, and manage local content
Use the sound library controls to delete saved sounds, and the relevant studio controls to manage prompts and presets. Clearing this site's browser storage removes its locally saved settings and library and can also sign you out of Pro. Clearing storage does not cancel a purchase or automatically release an activation slot; manage activations on the activation page.
Preset import and export transfer supported preset settings. An export can include images when you choose that option; it is not a complete backup of your saved audio library. Downloaded exports remain wherever you save them, even after you clear this site's storage. Keep copies only where you intend to share or store them.
Purchases, licenses, and essential cookies
When purchase and activation services are enabled, Lemon Squeezy processes checkout and license transactions. Zeekey's licensing service uses order and license identifiers, encrypted license keys, activation records, hashed session credentials, and webhook records to provide access, recover activations, and handle purchase status changes. Zeekey does not store payment card details.
Essential HttpOnly cookies identify browser and activation sessions. License requests can contact Zeekey and Lemon Squeezy. Recovery codes are sent to the purchase email through Resend when configured. Extension pairing uses a separate credential linked to the same activation slot. These requests do not include your playground typing or locally selected sound and image files.
Waitlist and support information
Joining the waitlist submits your email address with consent. The service records the email, signup time, and signup source to provide extension launch updates. When configured, Resend also delivers a signup notification to the Zeekey team. To request removal, use the available contact option on the support page.
If you contact support, the information you choose to send is used to respond. Send an order number when relevant, but do not send card details, passwords, or a full license key.
Hosting and service providers
Opening a page, loading a built-in sound, or calling a service sends ordinary network requests. Hosting, tunnel, security, payment, and email providers may process connection information such as IP addresses, request times, browser headers, and requested URLs to deliver and protect those services. Local audio processing does not mean that visiting the website creates no network traffic. Temporary previews may be delivered through Cloudflare.
The current app does not include advertising trackers or behavioral analytics. Zeekey does not sell your email address or use your saved sound clips for advertising. Provider processing may take place outside your country and is subject to their applicable privacy terms.
How long information remains
Local content remains until you remove it, clear site storage, or your browser removes it. It is not a guaranteed backup. Purchase and activation records can remain after deactivation for licensing, support, dispute handling, and applicable recordkeeping obligations. Expiration of a session or recovery code does not necessarily delete the corresponding database record.
The current implementation does not define a universal automatic deletion period for server records or waitlist entries. Contact Zeekey to request review or deletion of information held about you; some records may need to be retained for legal or transaction-related reasons.
Privacy choices and contact
Depending on the laws that apply to you, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, or objection, and to withdraw consent to optional communications. You may also contact the relevant data protection authority. Zeekey may need enough information to verify that a request relates to you.
Visit the support page for the currently available contact channel. The operator's legal identity and a working privacy contact must be confirmed before this policy is treated as a final public launch notice. If the support page says the inbox is not open, that contact channel is not yet available.
Policy updates
Changes to data handling will be reflected here with an updated date. Review this policy when using new features. For license and acceptable-use information, read the Terms and Conditions; sound attribution is listed in Third-party notices.
